DREAMS AND VISIONS
The most exciting and fulfilling work in life is to be a part of what Jesus is doing; and Jesus is now moving and bringing salvation to the Afghan people. Dreams of Jesus are at the center of a big spiritual change happening in the Muslim world. More and more Muslims are having deep dreams and visions of Jesus. The last ten years have seen more Muslims believe in Christ than in 1,400 years of Islamic history. Muslims in closed countries, such as Afghanistan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, are being met supernaturally by Jesus in dreams.
"All Arab News" reports that as of 2023, 50,000 of Iran's 75,000 mosques have shut down because of a lack of attendance and funding. Iran is now the fastest-growing church globally. Supernatural dreams and visions are taking place to a people that have been bound in darkness so that they can see the light of the Truth of Jesus Christ.

taking the gospel TO THE AFGHAN PEOPLE
In the aftermath of the Soviet war in Afghanistan in the 1980s, the U.S. military involvement from 2001 to 2021 following the September 11 attacks, and the subsequent rise to national power of the Taliban, many Afghan men are missing or displaced. Some helped the U.S. military and were then forced to flee the country when America pulled out of Afghanistan and allowed the Muslim extremist Taliban government to come to power in 2022. During the ensuing political turmoil, millions of Afghans fled to neighboring Pakistan and Iran and are now being forced back into Afghanistan by these foreign governments. Today, many Afghan women and children are without husbands and fathers with no place to live.
Now, in Afghanistan, the Taliban are abducting girls and young women off the streets, especially targeting the Hazara. Read a tragic, eye-witness account by one of our Ministry Leaders in the August "Prayer List Update", which can be downloaded below.
To escape the brutality of the Taliban, thousands of Afghans left their country for the promise of a better life in the West. An estimated 195,000 Afghan refugees and immigrants now reside in the USA, and over 55,000 in Canada. Most have never heard the Gospel, had a Christian friend, nor seen a Bible. These are our neighbors. A few are Christians. Many are Muslims that are open to the Gospel; and some arrived illegally and face an uncertain future with possible deportation back to Afghanistan and the brutal Taliban rule. A window for the Gospel is open today to reach these Afghans that have come to the West. The window may soon close and never reopen in our lifetime.

• When these people accept the Gospel, they will carry the message to their family and friends back in Afghanistan.

Building House Churches in the USA and Canada For the many Afghans that have fled to the West, Abraham’s Children is building and equipping house churches in the USA and Canada. Nearly all Afghans here in the West have relatives back in Afghanistan. Many of these relatives, such as cousins, brothers and sisters, and parents are not believers and have never heard the Gospel. The most cost-efficient way of reaching the Muslims in Afghanistan is to reach their relatives here in the West. The Afghans here in the West are familiar with the language, culture and challenges of Afghanistan and can take the Gospel to Afghanistan in ways no outsider can.

When America pulled out of Afghanistan in 2021 and before the Taliban took control of the country in 2022, millions of Afghans had fled to neighboring Iran and Pakistan to escape the brutal Taliban rule. Many of these Afghans had helped the U.S. Military and were part of the former government. Many them are the persecuted Hazara. Now, Iran is forcing these refugees out of Iran and back to Afghanistan. These refugee camps are temporary holding areas for the Afghans that are being moved back to Afghanistan. The Taliban is trying to keep all of these refugees in one place so they can be monitored and controlled.
One of our Ministry Leaders describes what he saw in one of the refugee camps in late August, 2025.
- “This afternoon, I went to the place where [Afghan] migrants from Iran are deported. I saw that the conditions were really terrible. There was no food, water, or shelter under the scorching sun. There were many problems for the children and women there. We went with [mentioned by name]. I took some mineral water and cake for them. But, the Taliban were closely monitoring everything. We went when the Taliban had gone to pray. We were able to get these supplies [to the refugees]. Thank God, Jesus helped us. Glory be to Jesus.”

- • About 74% of Afghanistan's people live in rural areas. Many of these villages are remote with poor access roads where it’s difficult or impossible for an automobile to reach these people. Your giving helped purchase a motorcycle for an Afghan Believer to take the Gospel to these isolated, unreached Afghans.
- • Your giving helped purchase computers, modems and mobile phones with higher internet speeds for Afghan Believers that are taking the Gospel to Muslims in Afghanistan. Today, computers and phones are essential tools for spreading the Gospel.
- • Your giving assisted Afghan Believers with rent payments in Afghanistan.
- • An Afghan worked as an interpreter for the U.S. Military. When America pulled out of Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban came to national power. This Afghan was forced to flee to Canada four years ago and leave behind a wife and four children that he could not get out of the country. Obtaining visas to leave Afghanistan is very difficult and costly.
- Recently, Jesus appeared to this husband and father in a dream and Jesus said He would get his family out of Afghanistan and this family would be reunited. Your giving is helping purchase visas, transportation and other expenses for the wife and children to leave Afghanistan.
- • Many of the Afghan Believers that have come to the USA and Canada speak little English. With the high cost of food and housing in the West, many of these Believers find it difficult to support their families. Your giving helped meet the expenses of rent and food for these Believers that are now here in the USA and Canada.
- • Your giving is providing Dari language Bibles to Believers in Afghanistan.
- • Your giving is providing English and Dari language Bibles to Believers in the USA and Canada.
- • An Afghan Believer was in the final year of graduate study at university and was being forced to quit his education because of remaining tuition costs and an expiring visa. Your giving helped provide the funding for the tuition and visa extension so that he could remain in the program and finish his education.

FASTING AND PRAYER
It’s just beginning. Abraham’s Children has already raised up ministry leaders in the USA, Canada and Afghanistan for this work. All ministry leaders are committed to fast and pray one day a week for direction and wisdom from the Holy Spirit to build the Church for Afghans.

THE VISION FOR ABRAHAM'S CHILDREN
On August 21, 2025, Jesus appeared in a dream to one of our Ministry Leaders in Afghanistan. In the dream were three of our leaders and a man dressed in an outer robe of blue and bright white stripes.
We were gathered around a spring in the desert, no trees, no forest, only emptiness. Then a man dressed in a dark blue chapan with bright white stripes, a nobleman with the dignity of a leader, like a President, took seeds from a bag and gave them to us, saying, “We should not remain idle.” We planted the seeds and He watered them with the water of the spring. The trees grew, became strong and bore fruit. Afterwards, He placed His hand on our shoulders and said, “From now on I will go. The care of these trees is now in your hands.” One of our leaders (mentioned by name) said, “The man in blue and white will always be with us. He is the only one able to protect and take care of the trees because He is more powerful.”
One of our Afghan leaders (mentioned by name) said, “Afghans always destroy everything. How will they care for these trees?” The other leader (mentioned by name) replied, “This is not in your power, nor in mine. The One who is mightier than all will take care of them.”
Then, women and children came near. The little children gathered around one of the leaders and he prayed for them and told them stories. Some elderly came too. Later, this leader said, “Each of us will go to a different corner to do the work given to us.”
Then I went to my corner and saw several of the leaders (mentioned by name) praying for the people. At that moment, I woke up and my room was filled with a gentle and delightful fragrance, like sweet perfume.
Since then, throughout this day, I have carried a deep sense within me that we have been entrusted with a great responsibility, especially here in this place where we live among the people around us. We are called to remain here and to help bring them out of darkness into the light.
In the dream, the leader (mentioned by name) knew the man in blue and bright white was different, not a normal man, and thought to himself that this is Jesus Christ.
"Behold the former things have come to pass, and new things do I declare:
before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
Isaiah 42:9
Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous places in the world for sharing the Gospel. In addition to the political and physical dangers, the spiritual warfare is intense. Our primary need is your prayers. Please pray the Lord Jesus will speak to us and direct this work.

Answering Islam’s Five Main Objections to Christianity Written By Debra Smith
Many Muslims are eager to hear the Gospel, contrary to what Christians often believe, according to Daniel Massieh of Open the Gates ministry. In this photo, Muslim women, refugees at Calvary Chapel Leipzig, Germany, developed friendships, learned German, and heard the Gospel. Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us.”
“The Good News of Jesus is powerful and effective for bringing Muslims to salvation,” declared Daniel Massieh, founder of Open the Gates ministry. “And Christians have a responsibility to share Christ openly with Muslims,” he added. In January, at the 2011 Calvary Chapel Missions Conference in Murrieta, CA, Daniel shared his testimony of conversion to Christ from Islam and challenged believers to eschew silence about the Gospel in favor of confidence in God. Contrary to many Christians’ expectations, Daniel stated, “Many Muslims are eager to hear the Good News. The harvest truly is plentiful. If you can respond to five common Islamic objections to Christianity, you are equipped to lead Muslims to Christ.” Emphasizing the importance of speaking clearly, simply, and kindly when witnessing to Muslims, he urged, “We cannot attack Muslims when we talk with them. We must speak in love.”
Daniel said that sharing Christ effectively with Muslims simply involves knowing the Gospel and understanding the way that many passages in the Qur’an actually support biblical truth. These five misunderstandings blind many Muslims to Jesus, but they are not difficult to refute using the Qur’an itself.
Christians should speak clearly, simply, and kindly when witnessing to Muslims. Daniel explains, “If you can respond to five common Islamic objections to Christianity, you are equipped to lead Muslims to Christ.”
1. The Bible is Corrupted Background: The Qur’an mentions three different parts of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures. It asserts that God gave them all.
• Torah/Taurat, or Law: “It was We who revealed the Law (to Moses); therein was Guidance and Light” Q. 5:442 (see also Q. 6:91; 21:483).
• Zabur, or Psalms: “We did bestow on some Prophets more (and other) gifts than on others: and We gave to David (the gift of) the Psalms” Q. 17:55 (see also Q. 21:105).
• Injil, or Gospel: “It is He who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind” Q. 3:3 (see also Q. 21:7).
Conclusion: Muslims generally believe, therefore, that the Bible came originally from God. Objection to Christianity: Because of discrepancies between the Bible and Qur’an, most Muslims believe the Bible has been altered.
Response: The Qur’an, however, says that:• The Bible is a reliable record: “And if you, Muhammad, are in doubt concerning that which We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book (that was) before thee” Q. 10:94. If the Bible was changed, when? Where? It had to be still accurate around A.D. 600 when Muhammad received this command to consult the Bible—and thousands of biblical manuscripts already existed, scattered throughout Asia, Europe, and Northern Africa. Changing all copies hidden and stored everywhere, by that point in time—and altering them in exactly the same way—would have taken a great miracle!
• God’s Word cannot be changed: “There is none that can alter the Words (and Decrees) of God” Q. 6:34 (see also Q. 5:48; 10:64; 15:9; 18:27). 2. Trinity Means Three Gods Objection to Christianity: Most Muslims mistakenly believe that Christians worship three gods. Many even think the Christian Trinity consists of Father, Son, and Mary.
Response:While seeking to refute the Trinity, the Qur’an affirms that God is both ‘Word’ and ‘Spirit’: “Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His apostles. Say not ‘Trinity’” Q. 4:171.
• God is awesome and complex. His three-ness and His one-ness describe different aspects of Him —much as a triangle has both three-ness (points) and one-ness (as a single shape).
• God is all-powerful and unlimited by human constraints (Q. 2:20, 189). Analogies do not come close to explaining Him adequately. But they help reveal how something can simultaneously be one and three, without contradiction, in different ways. 3. God Cannot Have a Son Objection to Christianity: Having a Son would entail physical procreation and would violate God’s Tawheed, or oneness. “Say: ‘He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; and there is none like unto Him” Q. 112:1-4 (see also Q. 19:35; 23:91).
Response: “Son of God” is a metaphor that describes a unique relationship between two aspects (Father and Son) of God’s single essence.
• “Son of Egypt,” similarly, means a man from Egypt—not a man begotten from the marriage of Turkey and Iran.
• The Qur’an itself uses metaphorical language for Jesus, calling Him a “Word” from God. “Behold! The angels said: ‘O Mary! God giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to God” Q. 3:45.
• The Arabic language has two words for “son”: ibn (metaphorical), and walad (literal). Jesus is a Son in the ibn sense.
• The Qur’an affirms that God could have a son, if desired: “Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those He doth create” Q. 39:4. Though Q. 6:101 appears contradictory—implying that it would be impossible for God to have a son—Q. 39:4 remains. 4. Jesus is Not God Objection to Christianity: Saying that Jesus is God is blasphemy. Jesus was a prophet equal to Muhammad.
Response: Islam asserts that:
• Jesus was born of a virgin (Q. 3:47; 19:16-21)
• Jesus was righteous (Q. 3:46; 6:85)
• Jesus was sinless (Hadith 6: Bukhari and Muslim)
• Jesus performed miracles (Q. 3:49; 5:110)
• Jesus spoke during infancy (Q. 19:29-31)
• Jesus was strengthened/supported by the Holy Spirit (Q. 2:87)
• Jesus was God’s Word (Q. 4:171) • Jesus was a Spirit from God (Q. 4:171)
The Qur’an and Hadiths do not make these claims about Muhammad. It seems, then, that Jesus reflected God’s perfect character and love in a way Muhammad didn’t. If the two were equal, why did Muhammad not experience, do, and be such things? 5. Jesus was Not Crucified, and Atonement is Not Necessary
Objection to Christianity:• Atonement is not needed, because salvation comes by works. “To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness hath God promised forgiveness and a great reward” Q. 5:9 (see also Q. 11:114; 29:7).
• One person’s sin cannot be transferred to another. “Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another” Q. 17:15.
Response:• The Qur’an is inconsistent, claiming once that Jesus’ crucifixion was only a trick (Q. 4:157) and elsewhere that He really did die and be raised (Q.3:55, M. Asad translation).
• The Qur’an affirms that Jesus Himself knew He would die and be resurrected: “‘So Peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!’” Q. 19:33. Why would Jesus make this claim if He wasn’t going to do so? If He did die and rise again, Why? For what purpose?
• The Qur’an affirms substitutionary atonement when it recounts Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son. “We called out to him, ‘O Abraham!’ … And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” Q. 37:104-107. If God cannot accept a sinless sacrifice as a ransom in place of a sinful person, why did He do so in Abraham’s case?

Response:While seeking to refute the Trinity, the Qur’an affirms that God is both ‘Word’ and ‘Spirit’: “Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in God and His apostles. Say not ‘Trinity’” Q. 4:171.
• God is awesome and complex. His three-ness and His one-ness describe different aspects of Him —much as a triangle has both three-ness (points) and one-ness (as a single shape).
• God is all-powerful and unlimited by human constraints (Q. 2:20, 189). Analogies do not come close to explaining Him adequately. But they help reveal how something can simultaneously be one and three, without contradiction, in different ways. 3. God Cannot Have a Son Objection to Christianity: Having a Son would entail physical procreation and would violate God’s Tawheed, or oneness. “Say: ‘He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; and there is none like unto Him” Q. 112:1-4 (see also Q. 19:35; 23:91).
Response: “Son of God” is a metaphor that describes a unique relationship between two aspects (Father and Son) of God’s single essence.
• “Son of Egypt,” similarly, means a man from Egypt—not a man begotten from the marriage of Turkey and Iran.
• The Qur’an itself uses metaphorical language for Jesus, calling Him a “Word” from God. “Behold! The angels said: ‘O Mary! God giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to God” Q. 3:45.
• The Arabic language has two words for “son”: ibn (metaphorical), and walad (literal). Jesus is a Son in the ibn sense.
• The Qur’an affirms that God could have a son, if desired: “Had Allah wished to take to Himself a son, He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those He doth create” Q. 39:4. Though Q. 6:101 appears contradictory—implying that it would be impossible for God to have a son—Q. 39:4 remains. 4. Jesus is Not God Objection to Christianity: Saying that Jesus is God is blasphemy. Jesus was a prophet equal to Muhammad.
Response: Islam asserts that:
• Jesus was born of a virgin (Q. 3:47; 19:16-21)
• Jesus was righteous (Q. 3:46; 6:85)
• Jesus was sinless (Hadith 6: Bukhari and Muslim)
• Jesus performed miracles (Q. 3:49; 5:110)
• Jesus spoke during infancy (Q. 19:29-31)
• Jesus was strengthened/supported by the Holy Spirit (Q. 2:87)
• Jesus was God’s Word (Q. 4:171) • Jesus was a Spirit from God (Q. 4:171)
The Qur’an and Hadiths do not make these claims about Muhammad. It seems, then, that Jesus reflected God’s perfect character and love in a way Muhammad didn’t. If the two were equal, why did Muhammad not experience, do, and be such things? 5. Jesus was Not Crucified, and Atonement is Not Necessary
Objection to Christianity:• Atonement is not needed, because salvation comes by works. “To those who believe and do deeds of righteousness hath God promised forgiveness and a great reward” Q. 5:9 (see also Q. 11:114; 29:7).
• One person’s sin cannot be transferred to another. “Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit: who goeth astray doth so to his own loss: No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another” Q. 17:15.
Response:• The Qur’an is inconsistent, claiming once that Jesus’ crucifixion was only a trick (Q. 4:157) and elsewhere that He really did die and be raised (Q.3:55, M. Asad translation).
• The Qur’an affirms that Jesus Himself knew He would die and be resurrected: “‘So Peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!’” Q. 19:33. Why would Jesus make this claim if He wasn’t going to do so? If He did die and rise again, Why? For what purpose?
• The Qur’an affirms substitutionary atonement when it recounts Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son. “We called out to him, ‘O Abraham!’ … And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice” Q. 37:104-107. If God cannot accept a sinless sacrifice as a ransom in place of a sinful person, why did He do so in Abraham’s case?
