In Their Own Words

No one meets Jesus and stays the same. Everyone who has a personal encounter with Jesus is changed. Here, our Ministry Leaders and Associates have put in their own word’s how they met Jesus and how their lives were miraculously transformed. Some have met Jesus after coming to the West, while others met Jesus in Afghanistan. And, it's still happening. These accounts are a testimony that a great move of salvation is happening in Afghanistan and among the Afghan people. This is a marvelous and wonderful work of God. For their safety and the protection of their families, the names have been changed. These versions are English translations of the original Dari accounts.
THE CROSS ON ROYA'S HAND My name is Roya. I became a believer in 2017 through my husband. That was the best moment of my life, because today I believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Before becoming a Christian, I was a very strict Muslim. I always prayed at the mosque and considered myself the best person, thinking I was better than everyone else. I often fought with my neighbor women and even hit their little children with a stick.
But one day, when I heard the Good News of the Gospel from my husband, at first I became very angry and argued with him. Yet, I noticed the change in his character – how kind and gentle he had become. In the early days of our marriage he was harsh and difficult, but now he was transformed. This made me curious, and I started reading the Bible a little. Reading God’s Word began to change my life.
During that time, I became very sick. One night, I had a dream: a bright man appeared beside me, placed His hand on my head, and said, “Daughter, you are healed, you are no longer sick.” I asked in the dream, “How can I know that I am healed?” He told me, “Look at the back of your hand.” When I woke up, I looked at my hand and saw the sign of a cross appear on it. From that moment, I was completely healed.
After this, I gave my life to Jesus Christ. Now, I live a peaceful life with my family in Christ.

EMMANUEL CALLS ON JESUS Before I came to know Jesus Christ, my life was full of pain, confusion, and restlessness. I often suffered from severe headaches and a constant sense of emptiness. No matter how hard I tried, I could not find the peace and meaning my heart longed for. There were times I felt so overwhelmed that I even considered giving up on life.
What made life even harder were the struggles of poverty and financial need. Many times, I did not even have money to buy a pair of shoes for myself. I remember walking on the streets and even on my way to school barefoot, with torn feet and deep sadness in my heart. These struggles weighed heavily on me and made me feel lost.
Yet, sometimes unexpected moments of joy and calm came to me—moments free from pain and worry—that made me wonder if someone was watching over me.
One day I read a short article online about Jesus. It said that Jesus healed the sick and that anyone who calls on Him from the heart can find healing and peace. I read more about His life and sacrifice, and when I realized He died for our sins and rose to give us new life, I wept. I felt in my heart that He might be the One I had been searching for.
I called on Jesus with sincere faith and gave my life to Him. That night I dreamed of a radiant figure who said, “From now on you will be freed from confusion and distress, for I am with you.” I woke up and, with a grateful heart, cried out, “Jesus Christ, my Heavenly Father, Thank You.”
Since that day my life has changed. Whenever I face problems—even financial hardships—I turn to Jesus in prayer, and He always provides for me at the right time. My pain and worry have lessened, and my heart is now full of hope and gratitude.
Now, I am deeply and passionately in love with Jesus Christ. I desire to follow Him all my days and share His love with others.
If you are in pain or confusion, call on Jesus from your heart—He hears and He heals.
"I HAVE CHOSEN YOU AND YOU ARE SAVED."FARHID MEETS JESUS In 2010, I was working in a remote area and facing a series of problems that made life difficult for me every day. I was struggling with hopelessness. I had many problems such as poverty, hard work, and low wages. One day, I was listening to the radio. Suddenly, I came across a radio program called Voice of Life and I became interested. They were talking about Christ in the Hazara dialect. This was very interesting to me. Not only because they spoke about Christ, but because of the Hazara dialect that attracted me. I became eager to listen to these talks until I listened to the program every day. Little by little, I realized that he was talking about the Bible, and this subject warmed my heart every day. Then I called the phone number that was announced in the program. He did not answer. After a while, he called me back and talked with me about his program. For a long time, this contact continued once a week, and with each passing day, my heart became closer to Christ. I loved Christ and at the same time, I was a Muslim, going to the mosque, praying, and reading the Qur’an. I was at this crossroads. Until one night, I saw a person in a dream who came and put his hand on my shoulder and said: “I have chosen you and you are saved.” He said, “I am the One who has the power. Do not be afraid.” When I woke up, my whole body was burning. I thought I had a fever, but I was healthy. With all my being I understood that this was Christ. After that, my whole life changed. I became a completely different person. I became kind, and all my depression was gone. Since 2017, I have been able to share the Holy Word with my friends, and I have also met Christ many times in my dreams. Before I became a believer, I was a bad person in my family, but God gave me wisdom to become a completely different person. All my friends and family were surprised and asked how I became such a good person. This was the grace of Christ that was given to me.

"I AM THE ONE YOU ALWAYS CALL UPON. I AM JESUS CHRIST." My name is Muhammad, and I live in North America, specifically Vancouver. The story begins on July 1, 2025, when I was struck by a severe and incurable illness. Initially, the pain was in my side, then slowly, it spread to my head, neck, and even my legs, to the point where I was unable to walk.
While ill, I was also drowning in a sea of massive problems—both personal and familial. It felt as if the entire celestial sphere, with all its weight and power, had descended upon my shoulders to crush and grind my bones.
Bewildered and worried, I asked myself what had happened for everything to suddenly fall apart, plunging me into this illness and these troubles.
The next day, I went to the hospital with one of my roommates to get a thorough examination and treatment, hoping to escape this ordeal. But my mind was still preoccupied with my family's troubles and the chaotic situation in Afghanistan, which was worsening daily, especially for the women and families who endure it out of necessity.
When I returned to my room from the hospital, I saw a bag full of all sorts of colorful medications intended to help me recover. Since childhood, I’ve never liked injections or taking medicine, and the sight of them intensified my sense of despair. I thought to myself, "What is the meaning of all this? All medicine, all pain, all suffering, and all this baggage of problems. How long will this last, and where will it end?"
I distinctly remember the doctor telling me I needed at least two weeks of rest and absolutely no work during that time to recover. I confirmed, saying, "Yes, I will definitely rest."
That night, all the pains seemed to conspire to destroy me. I couldn't even go to the restroom; if I tried, I had to stop or sit down after every step. It felt like the end of life. I told myself, "This is the finish line. Life was only until this moment, just until here." Every instant, I saw and experienced death before my eyes. There was no breath left to draw, no hope for survival.
With great difficulty, I managed to go to the restroom and return. I took some of the medication, rested my head on the pillow, and told myself, "If I am going to die, I should at least die in an organized manner—on my own bed."
As I drifted off to sleep, all the pains surged back, like an army of soldiers charging on horseback. With immense despair and a heavy heart, I finally fell asleep.
In my dream, I found myself in a verdant, vast plain—as far as the eye could see, it was all greenery, freshness, and pure, pleasant air. On one side, there were moderately high mountains with a magnificent view. I was sitting beside a clear stream when I saw someone appear in the distance, walking toward me.
I was perplexed, wondering who this person could be, approaching me in this boundless wilderness.
As he got closer, he greeted me, and I returned the greeting respectfully. He knew my name and asked, "Why are you so distressed and worried?"
Without lifting my head, I replied, "It's nothing. I'm in a lot of pain, I have so many problems. I feel lost, and I don't know what to do."
He placed his right hand on my shoulder, giving it a meaningful squeeze, and said, "Muhammad, everything will be fine. Don't worry, I promise you it will all be resolved. Don't be troubled."
I said, "Yes, I understand. Thank you for checking on me and comforting me."
I watched him remove his hand from my shoulder and start to leave. I lifted my head and saw a halo of light surrounding his face, like a veil preventing me from seeing him clearly. No matter how hard I tried to see his face, the light blocked it. If I wanted to say something, I couldn't; my tongue felt momentarily tied.
When he had walked a few steps, I called out, "Who are you?"
He called back, "I am the one you always call upon. I am Jesus Christ."
I woke up and realized there was absolutely no trace of pain left in my body. I messaged my manager, "I'm fine. I'll be in for work the day after tomorrow." My manager replied, "Are you joking with me? Yesterday you said you needed two weeks of rest, and now you're saying you'll start work?"
I responded, "Yes, I am completely fine. Don't worry."
The day after that, I went to work and started my job without feeling a single ounce of pain in my body. This was a very beautiful miracle that occurred in my life.

A HUSBAND'S TRANSFORMED LIFE BRINGS HIS WIFE TO JESUS
My name is Merciana, and I came to Christ in 2016 after witnessing a profound transformation in my husband’s life. Before knowing Jesus, I was a hopeless, pessimistic, and deeply discouraged person. I lived with anger in my heart and often blamed others for my struggles. When I discovered that my husband no longer followed Islam, I reacted with harshness and resentment. I argued with him constantly and allowed bitterness to grow inside me. But instead of responding with anger, my husband showed me patience, kindness, and a gentleness I had never seen before. His character had completely changed, and this transformation touched me deeply. It stirred something inside my heart and made me question the path I was on.For the first time, I brought a Bible into our home and began reading it in my free moments. Even though many doubts remained in my mind, the words of the New Testament slowly opened my heart. I wondered which path was true and where I truly belonged. One night, overwhelmed by confusion and tired of my inner struggle, I prayed sincerely and asked God to show me the right way. That night, I saw a dream unlike anything I had ever experienced. I saw a radiant figure in pure white calling me toward Himself with love and peace. When I woke the next morning, I felt a deep, unshakable peace in my heart — a peace I had never known before. In that moment, I believed in the Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart. From that day forward, my life began to change in ways I could not have imagined. My anger disappeared, my heart softened, and my behavior toward my husband, my children, and those around me transformed completely. As I continued reading the New Testament, I learned about God’s love, His grace, and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. And in the years that followed, our faith was tested in powerful ways.In 2017, my husband was beaten almost to death by radical extremists because he was preaching the Gospel. Despite this, we remained in Afghanistan and continued the work God had given us. Then in 2021, when the Taliban took over, they captured my husband for many days and brutally tortured him. By God’s grace and the mercy He showed through tribal elders, my husband was released. Shortly after, the Lord led our family to Pakistan, and eventually He opened the doors for us to come safely to the United States. Through all of this, Christ has shaped me, healed my heart, and given me a new identity. The hopeless woman I once was no longer exists. God replaced my despair with peace, my anger with love, and my confusion with a clear purpose. Today, I stand firm in my faith, grateful for God’s mercy and determined to follow Him wholeheartedly.
